Rancho Cucamonga Employment Lawyer

Rancho Cucamonga is one of only three San Bernardino County locations where unlimited civil cases may be filed, making it the county's West End civil courthouse.

The West End’s civil courthouse

The West End is the Chino, Chino Hills, Montclair, Upland and Alta Loma corridor.

The Superior Court takes filings labeled “Civil (limited and unlimited)” at the Civil Divisions of the San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga and Victorville Districts. Several other courthouses are closer to particular cities but do not take civil filings; the Fontana District, for instance, accepts only small claims, limited landlord-tenant and similar matters. The nearest courthouse is often not the right one.

Federal claims go to the Eastern Division of the Central District of California, at the George E. Brown, Jr. Federal Building, 3470 Twelfth Street, Riverside.

Working in Rancho Cucamonga

Rancho Cucamonga’s job base grew against the county-seat trend: jobs located in the city rose 31.2 percent between 2007 and 2017, to 85,922, while jobs in both San Bernardino and Ontario declined over the same period.

The largest sectors were education and health care combined at 18.7 percent; professional, scientific, management and administrative services at 14.5 percent; retail at 13.6 percent; and manufacturing at 11.6 percent, with wholesale trade and logistics at roughly 11 percent of citywide employment per the city’s own General Plan economic report.

(SCAG Local Profiles, 2017 data — the most recent verified city-level breakdown. The “education” category combines education and health.)

That mix — professional and administrative services alongside warehousing and manufacturing — produces claims at both ends. Salaried misclassification in the office sector; overtime calculation, off-the-clock time and contractor arrangements in the logistics and manufacturing sector.

Every claim has deadlines, and some are short. We go over yours in the first conversation.
